Northern Arizona University is embarking on a smart, sustainable, and comprehensive Campus Master Plan. The Campus Master Plan will be a realistic and feasible plan for the University based on the long-standing planning that has formed the campus character and physical environment. The Master Plan is a shared vision that will guide the development of NAU over the next decade and beyond.
If you experience any difficulty in accessing content on this website, please contact us and we will make every effort to assist you.
You are invited to attend an Open House session to view and provide feedback on the draft of the Campus Master Plan for NAU.
We are excited to share this important milestone in shaping the future of our university campus and would greatly appreciate your valuable insights.
Northern Arizona University is creating its Master Plan, which includes all of NAU's properties, working in conjunction with DLR Group, a nationally recognized campus master planning and design firm. This Plan will provide a framework for land use, open space, facility development and circulation. This master plan will also emphasize Smart Campus capabilities to drive new efficiencies, contribute to our efforts to reduce carbon emissions, and effectively manage resources.
As a requirement of ABOR, the plan will prepare and update capital outlay improvement and development plans for specific identified projects. Throughout the planning process, we will engage with students, faculty, staff, and the community to solicit input, test assumptions, and build campus-wide consensus in the plan.
We look forward to your involvement as we embark on this exciting chapter in NAU’s future together.
The process began in Spring 2022, and is due to be completed in 2023. The schedule below provides an overview of the master planning process with approximate dates and descriptions of what will occur during each phase of the planning process.
